Heartland Wines is a joint venture from industry veterans and lifelong mates Ben Glaetzer (of Glaetzer Wines fame) and Nick Keukenmeester in Langhorne Creek, South Australia. The wine spends a further 8 months on lees in tank and barrel and 1 year in bottle prior to release. The result is an expressive and textured rosé with elements of strawberries and cream and ripe red cherry.
Harrow & Hope Pinot Meunier 2019 (6 Bottles) Marlow, Buckinghamshire, England
UK MAINLAND SHIPPING INCLUDED
85% of this wine was fermented in stainless steel to preserve the unique aromatic qualities of this variety. The rest was fermented in a 500 litre oak puncheon to build structure and length. This is a naturally soft and elegant wine with a subtle floral nose but also has a savory, saline edge. The palate has a moreish quality because of the soft acid profile and elegant almost feather light feel, with the saline finish really drawing you back to have another glass. This wine seems to get better every time I try it. Being the first iteration it’s difficult to say how long it might go on for but if balance is the key to longevity then this has it in abundance.
