Cielo e Terra has dual roots in the Veneto region: the Cielo family and the winemakers of the Cantine dei Colli Berici. The Cielo family’s bond with the land dates back to 1908 in the Vicenza countryside, near the Castles of Romeo and Juliet, where the great-grandfather had bought Casa Defrà, a small farm with a vineyard. They enjoy making wines with passion and innovation to create signature versions of traditional Italian wines, looking for the right balance between personality and easy-drinking.
This wine reveals a delicate light pink hue, reflecting its fresh and vibrant character. The bouquet is lively and persistent, offering inviting fruity aromas with notes of pineapple and strawberry. On the palate, it is soft and slightly mineral, delivering a well-rounded, balanced profile. 2022 produced the ripest Kerner our vineyard has ever produced. Coming in naturally at 12.8% Abv (remembering this is a relative of Riesling), there was an intensity & complexity to this variety that we have never experienced. Spritzy and refreshing, it displays vivid flavours of rhubarb & ginger compote, with a savoury, nutty background. A fantastic aperitif, or paired with pork, fatty fish, or Japanese cuisine. A once in a decade vintage.

Heartland Wines is a joint venture from industry veterans and lifelong mates Ben Glaetzer (of Glaetzer Wines fame) and Nick Keukenmeester in Langhorne Creek, South Australia. From its inception in 1999, Heartland’s ethos has been to create wines of balance, texture and a distinctive Australian identity. Sustainability is the cornerstone of Heartland’s approach to viticulture. they encourage plantings of indigenous trees, grasses and bushes, practice rational water management, and eschew chemical treatments in the vineyards. They even have a herd of goats to keep the weeds down.
Vermentino originally hails from Italy's Liguria region and the Mediterranean Island of Sardinia. It has been grown in Langhorne Creek for around 30 years. Langhorne Creek is an ideal location for Vermentino with our maritime conditions. Look for a refreshingly aromatic and bright wine full of citrus, pear and lemon peel. Heartland Vermentino has a sea spray character that the wine is known for, with a mouth-watering, zesty, long finish.

Inviting nose with red berry fruit (strawberry and raspberry), quince, nectarine, and delicate floral aromas (white rose petal).
Fresh red berries on the palate alongside crisp red apple give an initially bright attack, with the suggestion of stone fruits giving a slighter rounder feel to the wine. Floral notes linger on the palate giving an elegant finish.
