Saffron Grange Blanc de Blancs 2021 (6 Bottles) Saffron Walden, Essex, England

We are so thrilled to introduce our first ever Saffron Grange Blanc de Blancs; a style of wine that we personally love here and have wanted to showcase for a while. Due to a bumper crop of Chardonnay in 2021 we were able to finally achieve this and now it’s ready for you to get your hands on!
This signature vintage wine is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes, gently pressed and then aged for a minimum of 26 months in bottle and on its’ yeast lees and was disgorged in the summer to allow the wine to fully integrate before its release.
This Blanc de Blancs is abundant with orchard fruits, apple blossom and candied lemon on the nose with delicate yuzu, white peaches and a hint of flaky pastry on the palate. The finish is long with an elegant, flinty minerality.
We recommend enjoying this wine chilled on its own as an aperitif or, with seared scallops, creamy chicken cooked in a white wine sauce or with artisanal British cheeses.

This limited release Pinot Gris is very reminiscent of an Alsace Pinot Gris, richer than the Bacchus and fuller bodied it is very well balanced. Rather than let the apples go to waste, or fall to the hands of Devon’s notorious ‘Scrumpers’, we thought we’d put them to good use. For every bottle purchased from this range, we'll donate 25p to the Dartmoor Preservation Association to preserve the natural habitat.
