During the early years, Bodegas Lustau operated as an ‘Almacenista’. The Lustau family began bottling their own sherries and exporting by 1950. In the 1980s they expanded their range and introduced the Almacenista range concept of buying and maturing casks from small bodegas to share excellent quality names and styles with enthusiasts around the world. Bodegas Lustau is considered a world-class benchmark for top-quality wines.
This pale golden-hued vermouth is a blend of carefully selected white wines, fortified with a touch of brandy and infused with a secret blend of botanicals. The nose is immediately greeted with intense aromas of dried herbs, citrus peel, and a hint of saline minerality. On the palate, the wine reveals a perfect balance between sweetness and acidity, with flavours of green apple, fennel, and a touch of bitter almond. The wine is dry yet the aromas remind us of baked apples and lemon peel, it’s a beautiful wine to drink with food and it will naturally match most fish dishes, and especially those prepared with a creamy sauce or with a hint of spice.
Tasting Notes featured in Decanter Magazine:: (November 2023) "A richly textured blanc de blancs from the North Downs, five years on lees. Yeasty mango, pineapple and banana peel on the nose. More rounded yellow fruits on the palate, seasoned with sweet spices and a touch of tannin. The creamy weight is offset by still-vivid freshness. Toasty almonds to finish."

Awarded an impressive 93 points by Decanter Magazine, it featured in their November 2023 issue as one of the "Best English Wines to Try This Christmas". This wine is a true testament to our dedication to crafting exceptional English wines and makes a great gift for any wine lover.
The grapes were crushed and destemmed before fermenting. Part of the wine was fermented and aged in used oak barrels with the remainder in stainless steel tanks. Both batches went through malolactic fermentation. It was bottled for secondary fermentation in July 2016 and has matured on lees for 6 years.

Intense dark ruby colour clean and crisp with the pure expressive terroir on the palate
Medium bodied with moderate tannins the wine is, silky and aromatic with notable freshness and a splash bouquet of summer red fruits predominantly strawberries and dry cranberry , orange rinds, and slightly spicey with a hint of warm vanilla toast and cream caramel with a long finish.
The tannins are still fresh but well balanced and this a wine that could be drunk now but will age well.
This wine pairs well with duck, beef bourguignon and roasted chicken as well as hard cheese.
