A Chardonnay that just keeps getting better and better! Fresh and bright on the nose and mouth, with lemon, citrus zest and a lovely savoury salinity. This Chardonnay is a real winner to enjoy on it’s own or alongside fish and chicken dishes served with creamy lemon and dill sauces. Is your mouth watering yet?
The fruit was picked mid October, de-stemmed and pressed with partial wild yeast fermentation with over 70% in oak barrels, 5.4% of it new, and the rest of the ferment in stainless steel.
The 2022 was one of those glorious wine grape growing years. Spring started out mild and frost free. Summer brought so much sun along with the heat and drought, the clay soils loved it! Autumn was kind enough to offer a bountiful harvest and perfect ripeness for our still wines.

This classic cuvée of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier has all the hallmarks of a fine sparkling wine. Subtle fruit on the nose, predominately red berries from the Pinot, a little light citrus from the Chardonnay, and a hint of peach is backed up by a really long, mouth-filling palate that lingers and satisfies. Fresh and lively, the ripe acidity is complimented by a subtle sweetness, which pleases the senses.

This Ditchling Red is 100% Pinot Noir, light fruity style, has aged in old French barrels for 6 months. A soft and fruity red; smooth acidity and light tannic structure with warming red fruit aromas with lots of blackcurrants, cherry and spice on the palate. This single-vineyard Pinot Noir brims with flavours of plum, blackberry, juicy strawberry and red cherry. There’s complexity too, with dried herbs, spice and a smoky, mineral note. It’s beautifully balanced with silky tannins and a long finish.
The nose brims with ripe morello cherry, bramble fruits and raspberry alongside sweet spice, milk chocolate and toasted notes. On the palate, there are bold, ripe, dark fruits of plum and blackberry with juicy strawberry and red cherry. More complex flavours build as the wine opens up, with dried herbs, spice and a smoky mineral, toasted note. The wine is beautifully balanced with structured, silky tannins and a long, precise finish.

On the back of the hot summer of 2022, we left a further 689 vines of Solaris to ripen further. 28 days after harvesting our main Solaris crop, the berries turned a wonderful golden brown and started to dehydrate on the vine.
Packed full of banana & toffee flavours, lifted with some floral notes and held together with a refreshing acidity. This dessert wine pairs perfectly with some Shropshire Blue cheese.

The Cape Mentelle journey is a true labour of love, born from humble beginnings in 1970 with just sixteen hectares of vines. Fast forward to today, and this iconic winery has carefully crafted each blend to showcase the unique characteristics of its terroir, resulting in wines that are both complex and approachable.
This wine is a vibrant and seductive blend of flavours, with a nose that's bursting with juicy yellow peaches, sweet melon, and citrus zest, all entwined with delicate hints of frangipani and honeysuckle.
