Cielo e Terra has dual roots in the Veneto region: the Cielo family and the winemakers of the Cantine dei Colli Berici. The Cielo family’s bond with the land dates back to 1908 in the Vicenza countryside, near the Castles of Romeo and Juliet, where the great-grandfather had bought Casa Defrà, a small farm with a vineyard. They enjoy making wines with passion and innovation to create signature versions of traditional Italian wines, looking for the right balance between personality and easy-drinking.

Settimo Pizzolato is the fifth generation of grower at the estate, a man full of charisma and innovative wisdom. The vines at the Pizzolato estate are on pebbly banks of river deposit, which are irrigated by concrete channels that were put in in the 1950s during Italy’s reconstruction post-war. Monte del Frà (meaning ‘land of the monks’) gets its name from the late 15th century, when a group of Friars formed a monastery on the land. Some hundred years later, the friars leased 25 hectares for the cultivation of vineyards and fruit trees. You can, in fact, still see this document today in the Vienna’s historic library. Fast forward several centuries, and Monte del Frà is now in the very capable hands of the Bonomo family. For over six decades the family have farmed this land, now resting firmly with the third generation; Marica, Silvia and Massimo Bonomo.
Delicate scents of berry fruits, raspberries, redcurrants, and wild flowers, accompanied by light and refreshing hints of green apples and by spicy tones, cinnamon, cloves and vanilla.

Royal Sovereign Rosé is a dry, crisp rosé with a vibrant cerise colour made from hand-harvested Rondo grapes grown in the Tamar Valley. The wine has hints of strawberries, raspberries and summer fruits. Royal Sovereign was one of the most popular strawberry cultivars grown in Tamar Valley market gardens during the first half of the twentieth century.
