Vegan-friendly organic wine combines two conscious choices: respect for the environment and plant-based living. Organic wines are made from grapes grown without synthetic pesticides or herbicides, focusing on soil health and natural vineyard practices. To be vegan-friendly, these wines avoid traditional animal-derived fining agents such as egg whites, casein (milk protein), or isinglass (fish bladders). Instead, winemakers use plant-based or mineral alternatives, like bentonite clay or pea protein, to clarify the wine.
In the glass, vegan organic wines retain all the character and style of conventional wines—whether crisp whites, bold reds, or elegant sparklings—but with the reassurance of being both eco-conscious and animal-free. Expect pure fruit expression and a clean, natural taste.
For UK drinkers, vegan-friendly organic wines are an excellent choice for plant-based dining. They pair beautifully with Mediterranean vegetables, curries, bean dishes, roasted root veg, salads, and dairy-free cheeses, making them perfect for modern, mindful lifestyles.

NECTAR FROM A DIFFERENT HECTARE
As if we didn’t know well enough how tiny our vineyard is, the wine this time comes from another family owned estate; of 250 hectares! Perez Cruz Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 is an absolute belter.
This unique eco-friendly winery is found in the Maipo Andes in Chile and, as much as we are seen as rosé specialists, so they are considered red experts. This region, at around 500m above sea level, is considered to be one of the most sought after areas to grow Cabernet Sauvignon. As ours are, their vines are trained on a double guyot system and have a long ripening season eventually being harvested by hand. The big difference is that, in the middle bit, they get plenty of sunshine!
A bit of an ‘under the radar’ wine, this has intense ripe red fruits with sweet vanilla (it spends a year in oak), black pepper, wild herbs and figs. The palate is creamy and concentrated with enough grip for food but the balanced acidity and soft tannins are also perfect for a liquid supper watching a movie in front of the fire. Perfect wine for roast dinner. It’s vegan friendly too….

Bacchus grapes are particularly well suited to our High Weald terroir, and produce a fresh, aromatic, crisp white wine. This 2023 vintage shows all the benefits of the long hot summer in the UK last year and is slightly more rounded and nuanced than our previous vintages, with strong aromas of pear and gooseberry on the nose and palate and with a deliciously smooth finish. Alcohol 12%, vegan friendly, organic.

Our Medium Pink is made from Pinot Noir Precoce grapes harvested early October, the wine is dry in style, unfined and vegan friendly.
This medium pink wine starts with a floral and red fruits nose. The palate has flavours of strawberries, cranberries and red fruits leading to a long finish.

Our Bacchus is made from hand-picked grapes, harvested in early October 2023, the Bacchus grapes from Suffolk, Essex, Oxfordshire and Hungerhill Vineyard were gently pressed in our winery. The pale lemon juice was Fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged in a third vintage oak barrel from Burgundy, before being bottled in May 2024. The wine is unfiltered, unfined and vegan friendly.
This white wine starts with a floral, citrus and elderflower nose and have aromas of citrus, grapefruit and peach. The Merstone Bacchus is refreshing on the palace and has a long finish.
Merstone Bacchus pairs perfectly with seafood, fish and chips dishes or can be enjoyed on its own.
Hungerhill Merstone Ortega 2023 (6 Bottles) Bedford, Bedfordshire, England

Our Ortega is made hand-picked grapes, harvested early October, the Ortega grapes from Kent started fermenting in our winery on the 6th of October. The pale yellow juice aged in a stainless steel tank and in a 3rd vintage oak barrel from Burgundy, before being bottled in May 2024. The wine is unfiltered, unfined and vegan friendly.
This white wine starts with a floral and citrus nose. The palate has flavours of peach, citrus and flowers leading to a long finish.
