The 2019 vintage began with abundant sunshine, a record-hot Easter, and a warm, wet summer. Despite challenges, careful vineyard management yielded clean, flavourful grapes. The blend includes 11% barrel-fermented wine and 12% aged reserve wines, with four years on lees for added complexity. Perfect for celebrations, it pairs beautifully with canapés and laughter. Kerner (a relative of Riesling) is the pride and joy of Astley Vineyard. Produced from vines planted in 1971, Old Vine Kerner is our flagship wine intended for sophisticated dinners, or sharing with appreciative friends.
2022 produced some of the ripest Kerner we have ever experienced - harvested at over 12.5% abv. The result is an astoundingly aromatic and intense wine.

2022 was very kind to our Kerner. Harvested at record sugar levels, this rich & aromatic expression of Kerner is both joyous and fascinatingly complex. The 7 month fermentation, and an extra month on lees created a luxuriously textured wine that somehow managed to not overpower the primary fruit. Enjoy on its own, or alongside rich north European cuisine (roast pork, mushrooms).

A possibility thanks to the warmer 2022 vintage, the wine is crimson red in colour with a heady blend of fresh raspberries, sweet spice and leather on the nose due to fermentation and maturation in two neutral French oak barrels.
The palate is bright, soft and juicy with macerated red cherries and a touch of freshly ground pepper. An uncomplicated example of the lighter style of still Pinot Noir that can be produced from Burges Field's when vintage conditions allow.

During the early years, Bodegas Lustau operated as an ‘Almacenista’. The Lustau family began bottling their own sherries and exporting by 1950. Golden yellow in colour, the nose is luxuriously rich and toasty with aromas of baked orchard and citrus fruits, reminiscent of caramelised tarte tatin. The ripe chardonnay from the endless summer of 2018 blends seamlessly with autolytic pastry notes formed over 5 years of lees ageing in bottle. On the palate, the wine is full of ripe citrus fruit with a backbone of crisp, mineral acidity holding everything together.
A slight salinity and pithiness in the mouth makes this wine perfect for enjoying with seafood such as oysters or even good old fish and chips. Drink from now or leave under cork for the next couple of years and let the wine become even toastier and more opulent.

New release! This is the latest release of our best-selling Rosé Brut from the successful 2022 vintage. This release is made exactly in exactly the same style - albeit a little lighter in appearance - from a blend of 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir and having spent over 18 months on lees.
Pale salmon in colour with an abundance of fine bubbles, the wine has notes of strawberry, some blood orange, summer citrus freshness with a little creamy nougat on the nose. The freshness continues into the palate with some lightly bready notes and a little some summer fruit salad. Reminiscent of a summer day with the sun going down, this is the perfect aperitif or paired with with light starter dishes. ABV 12%.
