The summer of 2018 left a legacy long after the long, warm summer days had faded and was well suited to producing a great harvest for reds. Nethercote Hill 2020 is a true reflection of this fantastic harvest. With light tannings, Oak undertones and a deliciously rich cherry hint on the pallet.
This wine pairs perfectly with lamb and other red meats, as well a being the perfect accompaniment to a traditional cheese board, or simply enjoy on its own. Best served at room temperature.

Isabel Estate is one of the original Marlborough vineyards with some of the oldest vines in the region on original rootstock. Throughout the 1980s the couple planted key noble varietals and began to deliver fruit of exceptional quality, in high demand from premium and internationally renowned wine producers. Under the leadership of Chief Winemaker Jeremy McKenzie, the winery continues to build its reputation for award winning Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir but is also producing world class Chardonnay. Recognised and awarded, the estate has won. All fruit is estate grown from the 54 hectares of vines, most of which are now organic.
This Sauvignon blanc has an alluring nose displaying notes of fresh passionfruit and citrus, with hints of lemongrass and stone fruit. The palate is concentrated and layered with bright citrus and tropical fruits giving way to a creamy mid palate and mineral finish. A perfect match with whole barbecued fish or freshly steamed mussels.

During the early years, Bodegas Lustau operated as an ‘Almacenista’. The Lustau family began bottling their own sherries and exporting by 1950. English rosé comes from grapes that grow at a property Melbury Vale co-manages locally. The breakdown is about 80% Dornfelder grapes, with the remaining 20% coming from a traditionally German variety called Reichensteiner. Both varieties of grapes ripen very well in the cool Dorset climate, producing crisp approachable dry wines. Reichensteiner is a light, floral grape that is perfect for blending. Dornfelder is also a German variety that is being widely planted in the UK for it’s beautiful red berry flavors. Dornfelder in rosé form has bright confectionary strawberry aromas and has bright red summer berries on the palate. The co-ferment of the Dornfelder and Reich gives us a sip of British summertime in a glass. With both berries and summer flowers, this is an extremely versatile wine that can pair with a wide range of foods and cuisines.
Food Pairings: Try this one with anything from local shellfish and crab to meats fresh off the BBQ. It can pair with everything from spicy foods you’d typically think to pair with a crisp white wine, all the way to roasted meats you would traditionally pair with a red wine.
