Tasting note In the glass, this is light straw in colour with a delicate mousse. On the nose, this has strawberry, peach, and peach melba notes. The flavour profile is filled with vibrant red fruit – notes of wild strawberry, cranberry, raspberry, with red apple and ripe peach. Bright, elegant acidity matches with the juicy fruit to create a delicious, vibrant wine, with floral hints of rose and some red cherry pie. There’s a touch of spice from the lees ageing. Oastbrook Estate White Pinot Noir 2023 (6 Bottles) Robertsbridge, Kent, England

£124.00
by Wines by Cellars

UK MAINLAND SHIPPING INCLUDED

The wine presents a light gold colour, with subtle red fruit aromas strawberry and red cherries with a hint of acacia and black pepper, this leads to delicioulsy rounded succulent palate balanced by beautifully clean acidity. The wine somehow both cleanses and envelopes on the finish.

100% Pinot Noir, the grapes from our vineyard were handpicked, and pressed in October. After low temperature fermentation to accentuate the thiol aromas the wine was left in tank over winter but not allowed to go to malolactic fermentation, the juice was very clear and required minimal fining and developed a rich aroma of red fruits with a soft creamy palate with crisp acidity. The wine was bottled in March 2024.

Smith and Evans LD 2010 (6 Bottles) Langport, Somerset, England

£270.00
by Wines by Cellars

UK MAINLAND SHIPPING INCLUDED

Our first vintage in 2010 feels like yesterday and like a different world altogether. The nerves and anxiety of years of work and planning all coming down to a single day. Thirty or so virtual strangers turned up to pick coralled by our friend Celia Kozlowski. Little did we know that some of them would still be harvesting with us to this day!

We sold the vast majority of the wine years ago but we kept a few bottles on lees for 13 years. We always keep a some in the cellars for family occasions and have decided to put 50 out into the world for people that are interested in seeeing how this gem has developed. The LD stands for Late Disgorged - doing it this way preserves the freshness of the wine and indeed, these bottles are remarkable. They resemble a blanc de blancs in terms of its taste profile which is fresh and full of minerality with distinctive grapefruit citrus aromas that I can't say that we remember from it's first incarnation. It's a beautiful delicate wine that is testament to the quality of those young vines at Higher Plot.
