Originally from the German region of Pfalz, Bacchus was created in the 30s as a cross between Silvaner, Riesling and Müller-Thurgau. The Cape Mentelle journey is a true labour of love, born from humble beginnings in 1970 with just sixteen hectares of vines. Fast forward to today, and this iconic winery has carefully crafted each blend to showcase the unique characteristics of its terroir, resulting in wines that are both complex and approachable.
This wine is a symphony of citrus and tropical flavours, bursting with energy and vibrancy. The nose is a riot of yellow grapefruit pith, green mango, and crushed lime leaf. Oastbrook Estate Sparkling Cuveé 2014 (6 Bottles) Robertsbridge, Kent, England

This is a rich ripe, full and surprisingly generous Cuvee. Aromas of lemon, pear and apple and hedgerow flowers and hints of brioche. The palate is lovely, lush and elegant and the finish long and equally luscious with a hint of shortbread.
The grapes were pressed in a traditional Coquard press. After fermentation the base wines were kept separate and remained on their gross yeast lees over winter to develop additional complexity and richness. The base wines did not go through malolactic fermentation. Bottled in May 2014 the Cuvee was disgorged on September 2021 and has spent 87 months on the lees. This wine is a blend of 62% Chardonnay 21% Pinot Noir and 17% Pinot Meunier.
