Style: Grown in polytunnels, so more full bodied than a typical English red.

Deep ruby in colour, with aromas of pepper, dark berries and spice. The palate is medium bodied with gentle tannins and a slight earthiness, flavours of stewed dark fruits and spices. The perfect wine for more full flavoured meat and mushroom based dishes.
Winemakers Notes: A cheats wine in many ways! In our climate we can not ripen either Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon as they simply ripen too late, so the grapes for this are grown under cover. The blend is 60% Merlot, 40% Cabernet, the grapes are fermented with daily pump overs to extract more colour, depth and body. Towards the end of the fermentation the grapes are pressed and transferred to a mixture of French oak barrels where they remain for over a year. The wine is then bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Juicy, crunchy, vibrant Pinot Noir all held in an elegant, very ‘classic’ structure. Concentrated brambles (blackberry) and black cherry, damson fruit overlaid with quintessential Pinot perfumed aromatics and subtle dry spice. Subtle fennel and violet give further aromatic complexity and intrigue. Medium-light, chalky tannins give the wine great texture, acidity is refreshing but well-integrated and harmonious. Tuffon Hall Grape Gin is made using the skins from our hand-picked Bacchus grapes. After we’ve pressed the grapes to make our Bacchus wine, we use the skins to make our grape gin.
The gin is infused with juniper berries, coriander seeds, fresh orange zest without pith, fresh minneola tangelo (a cross between a tangerine and a grapefruit), fresh torn bay leaves, some freshly grated lemon zest, and crucially our bacchus grape skins. They are steeped and distilled together in a small batch 200L copper pot gin still.
Serving suggestion: Serve with your favourite tonic, freshly sliced grapes and a slice of lime to give a truly refreshing yet dry finish.
Our Grape Gin, as with all our wines and gins is suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
