This signature vintage wine is our classic blend of 50% Pinot Noir, 35% Chardonnay and 15% Pinot Meunier aged for a minimum of 24 months on its’ yeast lees. The Gratiot-Pillière family’s focus has always been on quality, authenticity and value above all else. Winemakers since 1657, today the winery is in the hands of 11th generation brothers Olivier and Sébastien. The family vineyards cover 18 hectares of land, spread throughout the towns of Charly-Sur-Marne, Saulchery, Bonneil and Azy-Sur-Marne. Subtle blends of Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from across varied terroirs give a style that is fresh, balanced and replete with delicate fruit.
A blond gold yellow tint surrounds the fine bubbles which rise slowly. The nose expresses itself with opulence, with mixed notes of ripe yellow fruits (mirabelle plum, fresh quince) and fruit in syrup. The palate is almost suave, with a nice persistence, supported by a light freshness that accompanies a warm finish.

Modern white wines are generally pressed from their skins prior to fermentation. Orange wine is a term given to white wines that have been fermented and aged on their skins.
2022 Litmus Orange is produced from from 100% hand harvested Bacchus. The Bacchus was fermented and remained for six weeks on skins without sulphur dioxide.
Pale gold in colour the wine displays hazelnut, fennel and marzipan characters on the nose. The palate has a touch of Vanilla spice, is incredibly generous and complex and boasts a long broad palate with a gripping astringency and smooth, long finish. Enjoy with oily meats and spicy dishes.

This wine is a blend of Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir from the 2023 vintage and has been crafted to create a light delicate, fresh but aromatic white blend that celebrates the very best of the North Downs.
The Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir were whole bunch pressed with the Chardonnay formed purely from the cuvee fraction of the whole bunch press. The Pinot Gris was crushed and destemmed with a 2-hour soak. There was an addition of tea leaf tannins to the tank fermented wine to reduce the amount of added sulphites. 24% of the Chardonnay was fermented and aged in barrel for six months and 10% of the Chardonnay came from our Chardonnay ‘solera’ reserve tank which we started in 2015

Yolande Beekman flew to NE France as a radio operator in September 1943. Unfortunately in January 1944 her transmissions were detected and she was captured and tragically executed at Dachau in September 1944.
