Feudi del Pisciotto Grillo 2024 (6 Bottles) Sicily, Italy

Feudi del Pisciotto is a property located in a rural area of south-eastern Sicily, on the edge of the Sughereta di Niscemi Nature Reserve. The name refers to a small river that flows through the property. The winery and cellars are housed in a historic ‘palmento’ dating to the 18th century. The property and vineyards were all but abandoned before they were bought by famous Italian journalist Paolo Panerai in 2005. The viticultural ideology of Feudi del Pisciotto is based on the philosophy of Giacomo Tachis, who famously proclaimed that “the terroir of Sicily allows any type of vine to be grown successfully, with the right knowledge”.
This Grillo is pale straw yellow with greenish highlights, this wine offers aromas of melon, white pear, apricot and a hint of tropical fruits. Very juicy and approachable, with a round mid-palate and a savoury finish.

Isabel Estate is one of the original Marlborough vineyards with some of the oldest vines in the region on original rootstock. Throughout the 1980s the couple planted key noble varietals and began to deliver fruit of exceptional quality, in high demand from premium and internationally renowned wine producers. Under the leadership of Chief Winemaker Jeremy McKenzie, the winery continues to build its reputation for award winning Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir but is also producing world class Chardonnay. Recognised and awarded, the estate has won. All fruit is estate grown from the 54 hectares of vines, most of which are now organic.
This Sauvignon blanc has an alluring nose displaying notes of fresh passionfruit and citrus, with hints of lemongrass and stone fruit. The palate is concentrated and layered with bright citrus and tropical fruits giving way to a creamy mid palate and mineral finish. A perfect match with whole barbecued fish or freshly steamed mussels.

A Chardonnay that just keeps getting better and better! Fresh and bright on the nose and mouth, with lemon, citrus zest and a lovely savoury salinity. The fruit was picked mid October, de-stemmed and pressed with partial wild yeast fermentation with over 70% in oak barrels, 5.4% of it new, and the rest of the ferment in stainless steel.
The 2022 was one of those glorious wine grape growing years. Spring started out mild and frost free. Summer brought so much sun along with the heat and drought, the clay soils loved it! Autumn was kind enough to offer a bountiful harvest and perfect ripeness for our still wines.

The Rondo is whole bunch pressed and fermented in Stainless Steel tanks to preserve the rich berry fruits. The Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are whole bunch pressed and aged in French oak 225L barrels to add smooth structure and body. There are aromas of Citrus, Mulberry, blackcurrants and strawberries coupled with delicious summer fruit freshness on the palate.
