We have teamed up with Silver Circle Distillery again this year to create Y Gwyllgi, a Pinot Noir Gin that uses the beautiful leftover skin, pulp and seeds from the winemaking process combined with the wild flavours of foraged Wye Valley botanicals.
Named after a mythical beast the Gwyllgi, gwyll “twilight” + ci “dog”, who is said to appear as a frightful apparition of a Black Wolf with baleful breath and blazing red eyes.

English rosé comes from grapes that grow at a property Melbury Vale co-manages locally. The breakdown is about 80% Dornfelder grapes, with the remaining 20% coming from a traditionally German variety called Reichensteiner. Both varieties of grapes ripen very well in the cool Dorset climate, producing crisp approachable dry wines. Reichensteiner is a light, floral grape that is perfect for blending. Dornfelder is also a German variety that is being widely planted in the UK for it’s beautiful red berry flavors. Dornfelder in rosé form has bright confectionary strawberry aromas and has bright red summer berries on the palate. The co-ferment of the Dornfelder and Reich gives us a sip of British summertime in a glass. With both berries and summer flowers, this is an extremely versatile wine that can pair with a wide range of foods and cuisines.
Food Pairings: Try this one with anything from local shellfish and crab to meats fresh off the BBQ. It can pair with everything from spicy foods you’d typically think to pair with a crisp white wine, all the way to roasted meats you would traditionally pair with a red wine. Rosé is just red wine in a pink dress, after all.

Our Special Cuvée Brut 2018 sparkling white wine is made from carefully hand-picked Serval Blanc and Reichensteiner grapes. Isabel Estate is one of the original Marlborough vineyards with some of the oldest vines in the region on original rootstock. Throughout the 1980s the couple planted key noble varietals and began to deliver fruit of exceptional quality, in high demand from premium and internationally renowned wine producers. Under the leadership of Chief Winemaker Jeremy McKenzie, the winery continues to build its reputation for award winning Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir but is also producing world class Chardonnay. Recognised and awarded, the estate has won. All fruit is estate grown from the 54 hectares of vines, most of which are now organic.
This Pinot Noir is a mesmerising ruby-red hue sets the stage for an aromatic experience that unfolds with a symphony of wild flowers, fragrant violets, and lively red cherry notes. The palate reveals rich flavours, with the essence of black cherry, and dried herbs weaving together seamlessly. In addition to working with his wife Núria Altés on their ambitious joint project in Terra Alta, Herència Altés, Rafael De Haan has spent the last 10 years sourcing wines across Spain for his excellent négociant business, Bodegas Abanico. In the process he fell in love with the diverstiy of Spanish terroir, especially some lesser-known appellations and unusual varietals. This inspired him to launch the De Haan Altés Custom Cuvées project; Rafael partners with local winemakers he has known for years to craft unique, exceptionally-made cuvees that are the ultimate expressions of their respective terroirs.
Straw colour with a steely green rim. Bright and clean. Varied aromas, fruit and citrus predominating, apple and stone-fruit hints, with some flower notes. Tasty and well-structured in the mouth. Intense aftertaste with fruity and floral hints.
