Our Vintage is crafted only in exceptional years, such as 2018, when we believe the concentration, ripeness and maturity of fruit will deliver an exceptional wine for extended ageing. Blended from 70% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Noir, the Chardonnay delivers excellent structure and vibrancy, while the Pinot Noir brings body and depth to deliver great roundness on the palate.
Our Vintage spends a minimum of 36 months on lees before release creating deliciously biscuity, creamy, honey aromas with deliciously poised acidity and a hint of salinity.

This third release of our “SB” is a refreshing sparkling wine with deliciously English Sauvignon Blanc aromas of nettle, gooseberry & grass, heightened by flavours on the palate that deliver a savoury note. Soft and dry with a lovely sparkle, the wine is bright and fresh with hints of soft greengage and tomato leaf.
This wine works incredibly well on its own as an aperitif but it will also pair beautifully with pan- fried Dover sole with lemon and caper butter or grilled chicken breast with lemon and thyme, fresh seafood starters, and mild creamy cheeses.

This single-vineyard Pinot Noir brims with flavours of plum, blackberry, juicy strawberry and red cherry. There’s complexity too, with dried herbs, spice and a smoky, mineral note. It’s beautifully balanced with silky tannins and a long finish.
The nose brims with ripe morello cherry, bramble fruits and raspberry alongside sweet spice, milk chocolate and toasted notes. On the palate, there are bold, ripe, dark fruits of plum and blackberry with juicy strawberry and red cherry. Like Deus Ex Machina – an act of divine intervention in Greek tragedy that resolves the seemingly impossible on stage – Rosé Ex Machina was the result of our own much needed bolt from the blue in 2016: an initially difficult vintage saved by a glut of grapes from Jenkyn Place vineyard that were, quite literally, perfect.
Fortune struck again in 2018 – a year that wasn't just full of sunshine, but was relentlessly warm and bright from start to finish, without a puff of wind, and virtually no rain. That remarkable summer is evident at its core.
With four and a half years on lees, and another twelve months in bottle, the 2018 Rosé Ex Machina is serene and expansive. Blood orange one minute and wild raspberries the next; juicy and creamy, but with razor-sharp focus – it's tasting better than ever.
