The Cape Mentelle journey is a true labour of love, born from humble beginnings in 1970 with just sixteen hectares of vines. Fast forward to today, and this iconic winery has carefully crafted each blend to showcase the unique characteristics of its terroir, resulting in wines that are both complex and approachable.
This wine is a vibrant and seductive blend of flavours, with a nose that's bursting with juicy yellow peaches, sweet melon, and citrus zest, all entwined with delicate hints of frangipani and honeysuckle. On the palate, the wine is rich and indulgent, with flavours of rock melon, pistachio, and lemon curd that are perfectly balanced by a zesty acidity. This wine is a crafted blend of flavours and textures, showcasing the best of Margaret River Shiraz. This 16 Hectares Shiraz is a medium-bodied delight, with a rich array of dark fruit flavours, including red cherry, blackberry, and spiced plum. These flavours are beautifully complemented by layers of cedar and warm spice, adding depth and complexity to the wine. With its finely textured tannins and refreshing acidity, this wine is both elegant and refined. The gravelly soils of the Wallcliffe vineyard have imparted a subtle minerality, while the wild-yeast fermentation has added a touch of nuance. With its vibrant colour, balanced structure, and poised finish, this wine is a joy to drink now, with the potential to age gracefully for years to come.

Sandridge Barton Blanc de Noirs 2020 (6 Bottles) Stoke Gabriel, Devon, England

This is the first sparkling wine in our Sandridge Barton range, and it has certainly hit the ground running, winning a 'Master' medal at the Global Sparkling Wine Awards 2023 and is one of only 7 wines to achieve this top award out of 230 entries.
Made with 100% Pinot Noir from the best parcels, it's fermented naturally with indigenous yeasts in second fill French oak barrels where it spends a further 10 months on gross lees. We bottled this wine for second fermentation in June 2021, where it spent a further 18 months on the lees in bottle. We disgorged this wine with no dosage added, so it comes in at 0 g/l of residual sugar.
Raspberry gold in colour, with delicate aromas of rhubarb, fresh orchard fruits and cooked apple. The palate is dry, with delicate tart red berry flavours and subtle autolytic characters of baked bread and puff pastry. This leads you into a long finish lifted by the ripe and fruit-driven acidity.

This delicious sparkling white wine is made from 100% Chardonnay using the classic bottle fermentation method.
It is pale straw in colour with hints of green and a lively effervescence. The wine has delicate floral brioche with almond-like characters on the nose and a creamy palate, beautifully textured. It has balanced acidity and a long finish.

Complex aromas of toast, brioche, coffee, honey and fig on the nose are backed up by fresh tangerine and satsuma citrus notes on the palate. This is a great example of English Sparkling Wine at its finest. We will only make this wine in excellent years and in limited quantities.
First release of our signature premium blend is made from only our finest cuvees with minimal intervention techniques – no fining, no filtration and prolonged barrel maturation in a mixture of old and new oak prior to blending and bottling . The wine then spent over 4 years in bottle on-lees ageing in our cellars prior to disgorging leading to a beautifully concentrated and complex layered wine with perfect poise and balance.
