About Blackbook Vineyard
Nestled in the heart of London, Blackbook Vineyard is a pioneering urban winery that bridges the gap between city life and traditional winemaking. Founded in 2017 by winemaker Sergio Verrillo, Blackbook is located in a converted railway arch in Battersea, demonstrating that world-class wines can be crafted in unconventional settings.
Blackbook focuses on small-batch production, using sustainably sourced grapes from carefully selected English vineyards in Essex, Kent, and Oxfordshire. Their commitment to low-intervention winemaking emphasizes the pure expression of the fruit and the unique terroirs of these regions. Grapes are hand-harvested, fermented with wild yeasts, and handled minimally to create wines that are vibrant, modern, and characterful.
Specializing in Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, Blackbook Vineyard produces exceptional still and sparkling wines. Their “Clayhill Vineyard Chardonnay” is celebrated for its precision, with notes of citrus, green apple, and flinty minerality, while their “Painter of Light Pinot Noir” offers delicate red fruit flavors, soft tannins, and a hint of spice. These wines reflect Sergio’s vision of crafting elegant, terroir-driven wines with a distinctly English identity.
At Blackbook, visitors are invited into an intimate urban winery experience. Tours and tastings showcase the artistry of winemaking and the innovative spirit of crafting fine wine in the city. With its bold approach and dedication to quality, Blackbook Vineyard is redefining English wine and proving that great wines can emerge from even the most unexpected locations.
