It was Johann Rupert who constructed a state-of-theart winemaking facility, catapulting the farm into a prestigious wine estate. The focus is on terroir specific wines and therefore it would seem obvious that the brand is made up of an impressive portfolio of farms representing the best in grape producing locations. The portfolio is made up of L’Ormarins from Franschhoek, Rooderust from Darling, Riebeeksrivier from the Swartland and Altima from isolated Elandskloof. Each site offers optimum varietal specific growing conditions, allowing Anthonij Rupert Wyne to adhere to the requirements of their different brands.
The nose is warm and inviting, with aromas of fruitcake, blackberries, subtle spice, oak, and a hint of dark chocolate. This wine feels as comforting as a favourite pair of slippers, yet it boasts a solid structure that supports the fruit, with oak and tannins seamlessly integrated for a balanced, succulent ripeness.
