With 5,000 vines spread across three plots of land, we cultivate a mix of Pinot Noir, Bacchus, Chardonnay, and other varieties, taking advantage of the unique terroir imparted by the Cotswold limestone mixed soils.
Our farm, stretching from the top of Bredon Hill to the River Avon, boasts breathtaking views of the Malvern Hills. We’re committed to protecting this beautiful environment through organic, low-intensive farming methods. As a family-run business, we’re passionate about producing high-quality wines while preserving the natural beauty of our surroundings.
Deer Park wines, and the farm is owned and run by Mark Steele. Others call this style ‘non-vintage’ – we just prefer the name ‘multi-vintage’! The blend of this wine will vary slightly each year in order to maintain a consistent style, but it will typically be a combination of Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir or Pinot Meunier and will undergo 3 years on-lees ageing.
Generous and soft on the palate, this wine is open and expressive, exhibiting delightful panettone-like aromas of sweet baked bread, dried apricots, nuts and candied citrus peels.
Albourne Estate Red Pinot Noir 2019 (6 Bottles) Albourne, West Sussex, England
UK MAINLAND SHIPPING INCLUDED
This is our second vintage of Red Pinot Noir and displays a deeper, richer ruby colour and a more complex nose than our 2018 version. This is partly due to the vintage and partly due to increased use of the ‘saignee’ method during winemaking. The nose offers aromas of rich dark berries including black cherries backed by notes of cigarbox, black olives and dark chocolate. On the palate it delivers excellent body for a cool climate Pinot Noir with mature soft tannins, a balanced mouthfeel and a harmonious lingering finish. All of this wine has spent 12 months in a mix of new and old French oak barrels before being bottled by hand, unfined and unfiltered, under cork to allow gentle ageing.
Highly enjoyable with charcuteries cheese and nuts as an aperitif and great with a casserole or barbecued meats and vegetables.
