About Dropmore Vineyard
Dropmore Vineyard is the realisation of a dream shared by John and Feona Petersen. Inspired by a visit to New Zealand’s Marlborough wine region in 2005, they embarked on a journey to create a small, boutique vineyard in their backyard in Buckinghamshire. After extensive research and completing viticulture courses at Plumpton College, they planted their first vines in 2008. The vineyard, situated near Burnham Beeches, boasts a gentle south-east facing slope with excellent soil, ideal for growing a range of grape varieties.
Today, Feona Petersen continues to develop the legacy created by her husband, producing award-winning wines from five grape varieties: Bacchus, Chardonnay, Ortega, Pinot Meunier, and Pinot Noir. Our wines have won numerous gold, silver, and bronze medals at regional and national wine challenges, including the best still wine in the 2013 T&CVA challenge.

Made entirely from our own grown Pinot varieties, this wine is a mix of 45% Pinot Noir (mix of clones), 40% Pinot Noir Precoce and 15% Pinot Meunier. With our warm summer of 2023 the result is an intoxicating aroma of red summer fruit produce.
On the mouth the first taste is distinctly of ripe raspberries and loganberries followed by pomegranate and perhaps some red currant. The wine leaves a smooth and rounded finish. This is well balanced and a delight to drink on a summer’s afternoon – with or without food!

An exotic and sumptuous rosé, crafted from pinot noir and reichensteiner. Rose gold in colour, with aromas of fleshy stone fruits, cranberries and undertones of english hedgerows. The wine presents a light peach skin, cherry hue with fragrant aromas of cherry, rasberry, ripe strawberries, peach skin and nectarine it follows through with a zingy mouthfeel of cranberry, lemon grapefruit and ripe breadfruit. It is well balanced with the intensity of fruit and creamy texture.
100% Pinot Noir, the grapes from our vineyard were handpicked, and pressed in October this is a blend of pressed whole bunch and saignée from our 2022 red Pinot Noir. After low temperature fermentation to accentuate the thiol aromas the wine was left in tank over winter but not allowed to go to malolactic fermentation, the juice was very clear and required minimal fining and developed a rich aroma of red fruits with a soft creamy palate with crisp acidity.
