Our elegant, dry and complex 2015 Sparkling Classic Cuvée benefitted from a dry summer and warm September, helping to ripen the traditional Champagne varieties used in this blend.
The tension and ripe citrus fruits of this dry sparkling wine works particularly well with Thai inspired recipes. The roundness and subtle mouthfeel of the wine is a treat to match with noble fish and seafood such as gurnard, bass or scallops.
About Greyfriars Vineyard
Our vineyards are predominantly planted with the three classic Champagne varieties; Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. However, we also have small plots of Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Blanc. Our state-of-the-art tasting room was built over lockdown and opened in 2021. Passion throughout the winemaking and vineyard teams has led to a number of our wines gaining critical acclaim, winning a number of prizes in international competitions including the Decanter World Wine Awards.
The current Greyfriars Vineyard was originally set up in 1989 and was one of the first in England to plant the traditional Champagne grape varieties (Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier). 30 years later, in 2011, Mike and Hilary Wagstaff took over with the aim of expanding the vineyard to its current size of 40 acres and to produce stunning English Sparkling Wine, building a state-of-the-art winery complete with an underground chalk cave cellar to accommodate this growth.
Our aim is not just to produce a Champagne ‘copy’ but rather to create a small range of great sparkling wines which reflects the unique geology, soil conditions, climate and heritage of the wonderful landscape of the Surrey North Downs. In addition, we are looking to take advantage of the most modern grape growing and winemaking technology, planning some exciting trials and experiments in both the vineyard and the winery over the next few years. Composed of 78% Chardonnay, 18% Pinot Noir, and 4% Pinot Meunier, this fine wine has been aged for a minimum of 10 years on lees to provide a heightened complexity. This new release is made from grapes from the excellent 2019 and 2020 vintages. Made from a blend of 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir, secondary fermentation in bottle followed by 24 months gaining complexity on lees. The wine therefore benefits from some lovely bottle age and is ready to be enjoyed now. 12% ABV.

This is our classic blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes. It has a pale silver lime-leaf green appearance, with continuous small bubbles. It is toasty, with under-ripe pineapple and greengage fruit behind; brut-style, balanced with creamy mousse and great freshness, and a long finish. This wine is brilliant as an aperitif on its own or wonderful paired with seafood.

Fresh and fruity, the wine is soft and dry with intense lemon, apple and mineral flavours.
Grape Varieties - 60% Chardonnay. 20% Pinot Noir and 20% Pinot Meunier
The crisp finish makes it a perfect aperitif and equally a great wine pairing with light fish dishes or any type of seafood.
The grapes were hand picked and whole bunch pressed. Fermented and aged in staineless steel tanks before bottling. Put through malolactic fermentation.
This exceptional value for money English Sparkling Wine won gold at the recent WineGB 2023 Awards. Blending together the three traditional "Champagne" varieties, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, from 2014, 2015 and 2016 vintages, our NV Sparkling Cuvée was left to age in bottle for two years on its lees.

Boco by House Coren; a high-quality Charmat method sparkling wine made in West Sussex using top-quality grapes from England. An iridescent kaleidoscope of pale, white peach.
