About Little Waddon Vineyard
We’re nestled at the base of south-facing chalk and limestone downs, just inland from Chesil Beach, the West Fleet at Langton Herring, and the sea. Located within Dorset’s iconic Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage Site and Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the vineyard enjoys sea breezes, stunning views, and an incredible micro-climate.
The same micro-climate, shared by Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens to the west, nurtures our vines. Beneath them lies rich loam mixed with flint, chalk, and limestone atop ancient Kimmeridge Clay, providing exceptional drainage. Planted in 2004, the vineyard is home to Seyval Blanc, Regent, and Phoenix grape varieties, which thrive in this habitat, consistently yielding award-winning wines.
In 2018, Simon and Karen acquired the vineyard and began its transformation into a regenerative, sustainable, and pesticide-free haven. This slow, gentle process restores the land and vines to a natural state, free from synthetic chemicals, insecticides, and herbicides. The vineyard and its surrounding ecosystem are treated as a single living entity, now brimming with diverse wildlife and flora.
Our Seyval Blanc, Phoenix, and Regent grapes produce small-batch, wild-fermented, low-intervention wines. We avoid chemical or mechanical filtering, food colourants, added tannins, and sulphur stabilisers, even during bottling.
Our ethos is “Grape-to-Glass.” We intervene as little as possible, allowing the limestone, clay, and vibrant biodiversity to shape the authentic terroir and unique character of our wines.
