About Llanerch Vineyard
Llanerch, derived from the Welsh word meaning “clearing” or “open space,” boasts a rich history dating back to the 1800s. Originally a 22-acre working farm, it transitioned into a vineyard in the 1980s under the stewardship of Diane and Peter, who planted over 2,000 vines and launched the Cariad wine label. Llanerch flourished, becoming a renowned vineyard producing up to 35,000 bottles annually.
After selling Llanerch in 2005, subsequent challenges, including the 2008 financial crisis, left the property in disrepair. In 2010, Ryan and his family revived Llanerch, blending its vineyard heritage with hospitality. Following an extensive refurbishment, it reopened in 2011, featuring a restaurant, wedding venue, and accommodations.
In 2019, a 26-room hotel extension further elevated Llanerch’s offerings, but the COVID-19 pandemic posed new challenges. Adapting swiftly, the team launched the Llanerch Farm Shop, providing essentials and luxury goods to the community. Post-lockdown, Llanerch expanded its dining space, preparing for a triumphant return.
Today, Llanerch is a celebrated destination, recognised as the AA Best Hotel in Wales and awarded two AA Rosettes for culinary excellence. Its legacy combines vineyard charm, exceptional hospitality, and an enduring commitment to innovation and quality.
