A more full-bodied style with lemon rind, elderflower, toasted pine and yoghurt aromas. The palate is rounded and full with soft oak tannin, more rich yellow fruits and a touch of oak spice. 100% whole-bunch-pressed Madeleine Angevine that was spontaneously fermented in stainless steel and then matured in both steel and old French oak for 9 months before being bottled with no filtration.
This wine is part of our new Don’t Feed The Ponies range of more experimental wines, a reference to a campaign on Dartmoor National Park to discourage visitors from feeding the wild horses that roam there. The source of the River Dart begins way up in the heart of the moors, and it’s the river that influences how our grapes grow. For every bottle purchased from this range, we’ll donate 25p to the Dartmoor Preservation Association to preserve the natural habitat.
About Sandridge Barton
At Sandridge Barton, we proudly build on our 40-year legacy as pioneers of the English wine industry, formerly known as Sharpham Wine. Our history began in the 1980s when Maurice and Ruth Ash planted trial vines on the Sharpham Estate, overlooking the River Dart. The first wines were released in the late 1980s and quickly gained recognition.
In the 1990s and 2000s, Mark Sharman took over the business, expanding the vineyard and introducing new varieties. Our reputation grew, with wins in national and international awards, including three consecutive gold medals at the Sommeliers Choice Awards.
In the mid-2000s, we partnered with Sandridge Barton, increasing our production and honouring our ethos of using Dart Valley fruit. In 2020, we relocated to our new home on the Sandridge Barton estate, building a state-of-the-art winery and visitor centre.
We’re excited to continue our legacy, producing excellent wines made with grapes grown in our Dart Valley vineyards.

Sandridge Barton Don’t Feed the Ponies Figgie Daniel 2022 (6 Bottles) Stoke Gabriel, Devon, England
UK MAINLAND SHIPPING INCLUDED
An energetic wine with a lively spritz. This wine is unfiltered and unfined and contains the lees in the bottle. Col Fondo means 'with the bottom' in Italian, referring to the leftover lees sediment. This is the method in which Prosecco was produced before being overly commercialised but is now regaining popularity.
This wine is light and spritzy with green apple, lemon rind, elderflower and yeasty characters. We recommend a gentle shake before serving to distribute the sediment.
