About Stonepit Vineyard
Stonepit Vineyard is nestled near the historic market town of Olney in North Buckinghamshire. Our story began in April 2018 when John and Fiona planted the vineyard on a gently sloping, south-facing field with a limestone bed. The name “Stonepit” Vineyard originates from the farm’s original name before it was renamed Rectory Farm. After nurturing the vines for several years, we harvested our first vintage in April 2021.
Our goal is to produce boutique wines, including white, red, rosé, and from summer 2024, sparkling white and rosé. Our white wine is made from the Bacchus grape, our red from the Regent grape, and our rosé from a combination of both. We’re thrilled to have won gold medals for our white and rosé wines, with the latter featured on BBC Radio’s Bill Buckley Show.
Our bottle labels feature a charming illustration of our vines, Olney town bridge, and the church. Take a closer look at the clock tower – it’s always nearly six o’clock somewhere!

Matthew Jukes, Money Week “It is sensational, challenging, rare and unmissable and I feel that is like finding a missing page in the encyclopedia of wine.” - 2019 Vintage
Grown in Sussex, just 35 miles from our winery, the grapes are hand-picked and sorted in the vineyard. Whole bunch pressed and fermented using indigenous yeast in old burgundy barrels. The wine underwent natural malolactic fermentation and aged for a total of 7 months with frequent lees stirring. Our pinot meunier is a delicate interpretation of the variety lending itself to aromas of raspberry, mandarin peel, red floral notes, grapefruit, with hints of citrus zest, and dried cranberry.

Our award winning red is a vibrant blend of Pinot Noir and Rondo which takes its name from the historic St Edmundsbury Cathedral which once grew vines within its abbey walls. In the medieval period, a third of the tithe to Rome was paid in hogsheads of wine. It is this heritage which has inspired our best-selling English red.
A rich purple inky hue with aromas of vanilla, blackcurrant and toasted spices followed by a vibrant brambly palate with underlying savoury notes on the finish.
Llaethliw Red Wine (6 Bottles) Aberaeron, Llaethliw, Wales

Light purple and ready to be enjoyed in its youth. It has aromas of ripe plum and dark cherries with notes of blackberry, cassis and an earthy undertone that leads on to a soft and smooth tannin structure.
Incredibly soft and easy to drink, this wine is light enough to be chilled down slightly, and enjoyed with a tuna steak from the BBQ during the summer, or on its own with roast chicken, game or lamb during the cooler months.
Sandridge Barton Don’t Feed the Ponies Billy 2023 (6 Bottles) Stoke Gabriel, Devon, England
UK MAINLAND SHIPPING INCLUDED
A super light red wine with aromas of tart red berries, red apple and blackcurrant. The palate is light and delicate with flavours of sour cherry and cranberry and supported by a focused acidity and low to no tannin. Chill this bottle down and treat it like a cross between a red and rosé!
This wine is part of our new Don't Feed The Ponies range of more experimental wines, a reference to a campaign on Dartmoor National Park to discourage visitors from feeding the wild horses that roam there. The source of the River Dart begins way up in the heart of the moors, and it's the river that influences how our grapes grow.
