About Tamar Valley Vineyard

Tamar Valley Vineyard is located two miles southwest of the village of Bere Alston, just 20 minutes from the historic market town of Tavistock on the edge of Dartmoor, and 40 minutes from the vibrant Atlantic city of Plymouth.

At Tamar Valley Vineyard, there’s never a dull moment. While harvest is an exciting time, the vineyard thrives year-round with essential tasks that ensure the quality of each vintage. From winter pruning to summer canopy management, every season plays a vital role in the journey from vine to bottle.

Tamar Valley Vineyard currently cultivates 1,400 vines of Madeleine Angevine, a grape originally from France’s Loire Valley and popular in Germany. Known for its early ripening, it thrives in the UK’s cooler climate. Plans are underway to expand the vineyard with additional varietals in the near future.
