About The Grange Winery
Nestled across thirty acres of idyllic Hampshire downland, The Grange is home to fifty-two thousand vines and four siblings united by a shared vision: to craft exceptional English sparkling wine. Over two centuries since their forebear Alexander purchased the Grange Estate, Zam, Rose, Lucy, and Mark came together in 2011 to create something lasting and meaningful on their family farm. Their vineyard, Burges Field, with its flinty, south-facing slopes, yields grapes that strike the perfect balance of acidity and sugar, expressing the unique terroir of this soft, chalky landscape.
The Grange team brings together global expertise and local passion. Vineyard Manager Samuel Philippot, originally from Montpellier, combines his experience in organic cultivation with meticulous attention to detail, while Head Winemaker Harry Pickering applies a wealth of international winemaking knowledge, honed in New Zealand and beyond, to craft wines of elegance and finesse. Assistant Winemaker Juan Montenegro and Assistant Vineyard Manager Will Francis contribute their own diverse experiences, ensuring every bottle reflects years of care and dedication.
Their father, John Ashburton, a former banker and avid wine-lover, was an enthusiastic supporter until his passing, with the Classic being his favorite—a legacy the family honours with every vintage.
The Grange’s sparkling wines embody the family’s entrepreneurial spirit and deep connection to the land, offering a testament to tradition, craftsmanship, and a shared desire to create something truly remarkable.

As its name suggests this wine is made of selected base wines from multiple vintages to produce an approachable and immediately enjoyable style. Others call this style ‘non-vintage’ – we just prefer the name ‘multi-vintage’! The blend of this wine will vary slightly each year in order to maintain a consistent style, but it will typically be a combination of Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir or Pinot Meunier and will undergo 3 years on-lees ageing.
Generous and soft on the palate, this wine is open and expressive, exhibiting delightful panettone-like aromas of sweet baked bread, dried apricots, nuts and candied citrus peels.
Black Chalk Classic Sparkling White 2021 (6 Bottles) Andover, Hampshire, England
UK MAINLAND SHIPPING INCLUDED
A sophisticated blend of 50% Chardonnay, 38% Pinot Noir, and 12% Pinot Meunier, this wine embodies elegance and precision. The Chardonnay-led profile delivers a vibrant fruit focus, while a touch of malolactic fermentation adds a layer of richness and texture, perfectly balanced by the wine’s hallmark freshness.
On the palate, expect a textured and full-bodied experience, supported by bright acidity (8.5g/l) and subtle sweetness (5.4g/l residual sugar). The wine is aged for a minimum of 22 months on lees, enhancing complexity, with an additional 6 months on cork post-disgorgement to ensure perfect integration.
A versatile choice for any occasion. Enjoy as an aperitif with crisps and canapés, or elevate everyday dining by pairing with fried chicken. For a more refined match, complement its freshness and texture with shellfish such as oysters, crab, or prawns.

Matthew Jukes, Money Week “It is sensational, challenging, rare and unmissable and I feel that is like finding a missing page in the encyclopedia of wine.” - 2019 Vintage
Grown in Sussex, just 35 miles from our winery, the grapes are hand-picked and sorted in the vineyard. Whole bunch pressed and fermented using indigenous yeast in old burgundy barrels. The wine underwent natural malolactic fermentation and aged for a total of 7 months with frequent lees stirring. Our pinot meunier is a delicate interpretation of the variety lending itself to aromas of raspberry, mandarin peel, red floral notes, grapefruit, with hints of citrus zest, and dried cranberry.
Court Garden Ditchling Sparkling Quartet (6 Bottles) Ditchling, East Sussex, England

Using Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir Précoce, the wine has been longer in reserve and a large proportion has been barrel aged before bottling. Long aging on the lees has ensured a rich, but still fruity balance. Also awarded a gold medal at the 2021 International Wines & Spirits Competition; the judges commented “Stunning nose of honeycomb, bruised apple and brioche – like a fine dessert with apple four ways. It has lovely poise, classy and complex all held in perfect poise by the bright quintessentially English acidity”.
