Weingut Eymann Gönnheimer Spätburgunder 2022 (6 Bottles) Pfalz, Germany
£149.00
UK MAINLAND SHIPPING INCLUDED
Weingut Eymann was founded in 1984 in the village of Gönnheim, at the heart of the Pfalz wine region in southwest Germany. Since the beginning, it has been owned and run by the Torey family. The estate’s vineyards are located on the upper Rhine terrace, where soils shaped during the last ice age tell a long geological story. These soils, gravel and sand from ancient rivers, topped with a layer of loess—give the wines their structure and distinctive mineral character.
This wine has heady perfume of raspberries, bitter cherry and scented herbs, supported by sweet and supple tannins and a juicy mouthfeel. Small proportion of whole bunch gifts a lifted, aromatic profile.

Anthonij Rupert Wyne was founded on the farm, L’Ormarins in Franschhoek. Originally owned by the late Anthonij Rupert, who passed away in 2001, the farm was eventually taken over by his brother Johann Rupert in 2003 and the brand named after him. It was Johann Rupert who constructed a state-of-theart winemaking facility, catapulting the farm into a prestigious wine estate. The focus is on terroir specific wines and therefore it would seem obvious that the brand is made up of an impressive portfolio of farms representing the best in grape producing locations. The portfolio is made up of L’Ormarins from Franschhoek, Rooderust from Darling, Riebeeksrivier from the Swartland and Altima from isolated Elandskloof. Each site offers optimum varietal specific growing conditions, allowing Anthonij Rupert Wyne to adhere to the requirements of their different brands.
The nose is warm and inviting, with aromas of fruitcake, blackberries, subtle spice, oak, and a hint of dark chocolate. The same approachable charm carries through to the palate, offering a delightful blend of red and black fruits like plum, mulberry, and soft Agen prune, complemented by notes of Christmas cake and gentle spice. This wine feels as comforting as a favourite pair of slippers, yet it boasts a solid structure that supports the fruit, with oak and tannins seamlessly integrated for a balanced, succulent ripeness. Descendientes de J. Palacios Petalos 2022 (6 Bottles) Bierzo, Spain

Even once he made waves with his Priorat wines, Álvaro’s pioneering spirit never wavered. In 1997, Álvaro and his nephew Ricardo Pérez Palacios were seduced by the undiscovered potential of the Bierzo region in north-western Spain, a place then better known for agriculture and its gold mining past. Corullón, at an altitude of almost 1000 meters and lies on a tectonic fault. This combination of altitude, old vines and complex geology gives an incredibly intricate, ethereal and spell-binding wine.
It`s clearly more Mediterranean, with notes of rockrose and other aromatic herbs, juicy and round, more fruit-driven, aromatic, velvety and very pleasant and easy to drink. - Luis Gutierrez 93 points
