Nose: Aromas burst forth with a delightful mix of red fruits. Melon, subtle peach, orange peel and raspberry, followed by delicate floral notes of rose petals.
Palate: The initial impression is delightfully fresh and dry, with a crisp acidity that balances the juicy fruit flavours. Blood orange fruit, raspberry with a lingering zesty finish.
Overall: This English rosé is a vibrant and refreshing expression of the region’s terroir. The deep pink colour hints at a fuller body, but the dry finish and crisp acidity make it perfect for enjoying on a warm summer day or paired with barbeque foods.
About Welcombe Hills Vineyard
Set in the picturesque Warwickshire countryside, our family-run vineyard has been producing award-winning wines since 2001. My wife, Nichola, and I, Jonathan Kelsey, took over the vineyard in 2017, bringing with us a passion for English wine and a willingness to learn.
Originally planted in 2001 as a “hobby vineyard,” Welcombe Hills has grown to encompass 4.5 acres and 6,000 vines. Our vineyard boasts an impressive nine grape varieties, including Pinot Noir, Dornfelder, Bacchus, Auxerrois, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir Precoce.
Perched atop the Welcombe Hills, our vineyard enjoys stunning views of Stratford-Upon-Avon and benefits from rocky clay terroir, providing excellent drainage. We’re proud to be part of a rich agricultural heritage, with the land formerly farmed by the Shakespeare family.
We’re thrilled to have received numerous awards for our wines, including 5 silver medals in 2021 from Wine GB and the IEWA. Our commitment to quality and sustainability has earned us a reputation as one of the top vineyards in the region.

Light, pale styles of rosé have delicate aromas which can be overpowered by strong flavours. The structure and depth of Nannette’s makes it a perfect companion to summer salads, light seafood dishes or soft cheeses. Or, when the weather is warmer, serve at fridge temperature and enjoy on its own.
Inspired by our home and delicately pale to look at, this still wine blend of the traditional champagne varieties (Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay) shows just what English rosé is capable of. Brimming with delicious summer berry and a zesty freshness, from clay Hush Heath vineyards are ideally suited to create this soft, delicate dry style – the character of the wine echoes the beautiful English summer fruit orchards which inspired it. Since its first inception in 2010, this has been one of Balfour’s sold-out stars – and its release every year is hotly anticipated.
Blackbook “I’d Rather be a Rebel” Rosé 2021 (6 Bottles) Battersea, London, England
UK MAINLAND SHIPPING INCLUDED
Our rosé is made from pinot noir grapes sourced from Clayhill Vineyard in nearby Essex. The grapes are hand-picked into small crates then travel the short distance to our winery in Battersea. After a short cold soak, the grapes are pressed and fermented in old French oak.
The wine spends a further 8 months on lees in tank and barrel and 1 year in bottle prior to release. The result is an expressive and textured rosé with elements of strawberries and cream and ripe red cherry.

This wine is made from a small parcel of Stanlake Park’s Pinot Noir grapes, enabling an extraordinary balance between freshness and fruitiness.
Made with handpicked grapes, a short maceration on the skins extracts a delicate colour, with fermentation taking place at a cool temperature in stainless steel tanks to retain freshness. Released after only a few months of maturation. Unfiltered, so a small deposit can occur in some bottles – this is totally natural and harmless.
Keep horizontally in a dry and dark place, away from heat, sunlight and vibrations.
