This is our second release of sparkling rosé. Pressed, fermented, and bottled at Offbeat Wines by Daniel Ham, our winemaker. The grapes were hand-harvested and a whole bunch pressed. The wine underwent secondary fermentation in the bottle and then spent 18 months on its yeast lees and a further 6 months ‘on cork’. Released June 2023. This is a 100% pinot-based rosé — a departure from our first which contained a blend of chardonnay and pinot.
About Winding Wood Vineyard
In 2012, a casual remark sparked an adventure: planting a vineyard on our farm. We evicted the sheep and began our journey. Twelve years later, we’ve released five vintages of Winding Wood sparkling wine, earning medals, including a gold from WineGB.
Our vineyard is a labour of love, with 250 days a year spent tending to our 2,500 vines. We’ve met fellow passionate wine growers, shared knowledge, and joined the exclusive club of vineyard owners who believe England can produce world-class sparkling wine.
We’ve deliberately kept our operation small, focusing on low yield and high quality. Every vine is scrutinised, and we employ exacting canopy management to ensure healthy grapes. Our winemakers remind us that good wine can’t be made from poor grapes.
We’ve experimented with innovative technologies, including installing heated wires to protect our vines from spring frosts. This revolutionary system has proven effective, and we believe we’re the first in England to implement it throughout our entire vineyard.

Recommended by Saturday Kitchen’s Olly Smith and a strong pedigree: The 2010 vintage won a Decanter World Wine Award Gold medal, the UKVA Trophy for the best Sparkling Rose in England and was awarded first place in the MWs tasting of 90 English Sparkling wines in 2012. Judges included Jancis Robinson, Stephen Spurrier, Stephen Skelton, Susie Barry, Waitrose and M&S: 'Strawberry and raspberry nose, lovely acid backbone well balanced with the dosage'.
The 2008 and 2009 vintages were both outright winners of the Sparkling Rosé International trophy in Verona (Bollicini Del Mondo). Camel Valley 2009 Pinot Noir Rosé was crowned Sparkling Rosé World Champion ahead of Bollinger Champagne rosé and also won the International Wine Challenge Trophy. Awarded 95/100 points from Chair of Judges Tom Stevenson, editor of Christie's World Encyclopedia of Champagne and sparkling wine. Wrote Tom: ‘Sublime’ and ‘beautifully pale, delicate salmon-peach colour; lovely, delicately rich fruit’.

The latest release of our highly successful Classic Cuvée Brut that was originally released in 2019, and sold out quickly.
This new release is made from grapes from the excellent 2019 and 2020 vintages. Made from a blend of 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir, secondary fermentation in bottle followed by 24 months gaining complexity on lees. The wine therefore benefits from some lovely bottle age and is ready to be enjoyed now. 12% ABV.

New release! This is the latest release of our best-selling Rosé Brut from the successful 2022 vintage. This release is made exactly in exactly the same style - albeit a little lighter in appearance - from a blend of 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir and having spent over 18 months on lees.
Pale salmon in colour with an abundance of fine bubbles, the wine has notes of strawberry, some blood orange, summer citrus freshness with a little creamy nougat on the nose. The freshness continues into the palate with some lightly bready notes and a little some summer fruit salad. Reminiscent of a summer day with the sun going down, this is the perfect aperitif or paired with with light starter dishes. ABV 12%.

Coddington Vineyard Ortega 2022 (6 Bottles) Ledbury, Herefordshire, England

Ortega grapes ripen from the beginning of September – quite early for white grapes and therefore excellent in our rather damp Autumn climate.
It develops well in the bottle and produces wine of outstanding quality with a fine aroma reminiscent of peaches.
Not quite as dry as Bacchus, but not as sweet as Pinot.

This grape produces dark blue grapes when ripened at the end of October giving the wine a slight blush appearance. By allowing the natural fermentation to extend to 30 months, the Pinot grape makes a very fine sparkling wine having a fruity aroma and spicy flavour. Crisp and dry.

A golden hue reveals expressive aromas and defined flavours of citrus testiness, ripe orchard apples and Comice pears with a touch of fruit salad. Two years lees ageing lends further pastry and brioche notes to the mid palate. A delicious, elegant vintage with a rich softness and lingering finish.
The 2019 will develop further with age but is perfect for drinking now as an aperitif.

The 2019 vintage of Forty Hall Vineyard's Sparkling Brut is made in the traditional 'Champagne' method from organically grown Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay grapes, tended and harvested by hand by the volunteers at Forty Hall Vineyard in North London.
Our wines are made for us by multi award-winning English wine maker, Will Davenport and reflect the best of low-intervention, natural English winemaking.
