Sparkling Brut is one of the most popular sparkling wine styles worldwide, recognised for its crisp, dry character. The word “Brut” refers to the level of sweetness: with less than 12g of residual sugar per litre, Brut wines are refreshingly dry while still maintaining balance and finesse.
Brut sparkling wines can be made from a variety of grapes depending on the region. In Champagne, it’s typically a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier. In Prosecco, Glera dominates, while in England, classic varieties like Chardonnay and Pinot are used to produce world-class Brut styles.
In the glass, expect lively bubbles, bright acidity, and flavours of green apple, citrus, pear, and brioche, sometimes complemented by nutty or toasty notes if aged on the lees.

Leslie’s Reserve Brut NV is a bright and fresh sparkling wine that captures the elegance and purity of English winemaking. Named after co-founder Leslie Balfour Lynn and first released in 2021 alongside the Rosé, this classic traditional method wine highlights Balfour’s signature style, emphasising fruit and aromatics with minimal reserve wine. Fermentation in stainless steel tanks and full malolactic fermentation before ageing on lees for a minimum of 12 months.

This dry white sparkling wine is made from 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay grapes hand-picked from our vineyard in October 2019.
It was made using the classic bottle fermentation method and has spent three years on the lees. It is pale gold in colour and displays a fine mousse.
It has a floral bouquet with grapefruit and lemon on the nose. Dry on the palate with delicate aromas of apple, white peach, lemon and lime and a nutty finish.

This new release is made from grapes from the excellent 2019 and 2020 vintages. A vibrant English sparkling wine with bright citrus notes and crisp freshness. It has a medium lemon colour and fine delicate bubbles. Our multi-vintage blend uses fruit from all varieties and areas of our single vineyard to produce a wine that displays the unique qualities of the whole site. Using reserve wines, aged in oak, that have been carefully built up and nurtured from our very first harvest, we can add layers of complexity and texture to each wine. Every numbered release has it’s own identity and make up, which we love to celebrate. No 8 is based on the wonderful Pinot year that is 2019. It was a cooler and longer ripening season than 2018 and gives this wine a more elegant and focussed structure. The pronounced Pinot character is already giving lovely toasty complexity which will continue to build over the next few years. Enjoy on release but will also reward further ageing.
