White Blend
White blends bring together two or more grape varieties to create wines with balance, complexity, and unique character. Unlike single-varietal wines, blends allow winemakers to combine the best traits of different grapes, resulting in flavours that are greater than the sum of their parts. Famous examples include Bordeaux Blanc (typically Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon) and Rhône blends (often Marsanne, Roussanne, and Viognier), though modern versions are produced worldwide—including here in England.
In the glass, white blends can range from crisp and zesty (think citrus, green apple, and floral notes) to rich and rounded with hints of stone fruit, honey, and spice, depending on the grapes and winemaking style. This versatility makes them exciting and adaptable to many tastes.
For UK drinkers, white blends are excellent food wines—pairing beautifully with seafood, chicken, creamy pastas, risotto, and soft cheeses. They offer freshness, depth, and a little winemaking creativity in every glass.

This wine is a blend of Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir from the 2023 vintage and has been crafted to create a light delicate, fresh but aromatic white blend that celebrates the very best of the North Downs.
The Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir were whole bunch pressed with the Chardonnay formed purely from the cuvee fraction of the whole bunch press. The Pinot Gris was crushed and destemmed with a 2-hour soak. There was an addition of tea leaf tannins to the tank fermented wine to reduce the amount of added sulphites. 24% of the Chardonnay was fermented and aged in barrel for six months and 10% of the Chardonnay came from our Chardonnay ‘solera’ reserve tank which we started in 2015

Yolande Beekman flew to NE France as a radio operator in September 1943. Unfortunately in January 1944 her transmissions were detected and she was captured and tragically executed at Dachau in September 1944.

Gardner Street has the classic floral, elderflower note we have come to know of contemporary Bacchus, married with a touch of ripe stone fruit from the barrel fermented Chardonnay.
Sourced from vineyard partners in Essex and Kent we harvested the vineyard parcels separately and fermented as small lots to allow the expression of their respective sites to shine through. 30% of the blend was fermented in neutral 300L French oak barrels and
allowed to go through malolactic fermentation, while the remaining parcels were fermented at cool temperatures in stainless steel and did not go through malolactic fermentation.
