With passion and purpose Red Hut was launched and embodies the spirit of New Zealand, they are inspired by the iconic red huts that shelter adventurers. This Albariño on the nose, lifted aromas of white peach, Meyer lemon and sea spray are complemented by subtle floral undertones. The palate is bright and refreshing, with juicy stone fruit and citrus flavours, a fine line of acidity and a delicate saline edge. Cielo e Terra has dual roots in the Veneto region: the Cielo family and the winemakers of the Cantine dei Colli Berici. The Cielo family’s bond with the land dates back to 1908 in the Vicenza countryside, near the Castles of Romeo and Juliet, where the great-grandfather had bought Casa Defrà, a small farm with a vineyard. They enjoy making wines with passion and innovation to create signature versions of traditional Italian wines, looking for the right balance between personality and easy-drinking.
This wine displays a light straw yellow colour, hinting at its bright and refreshing character. The nose is fresh and fruity, with delicate aromas of wildflowers and fresh fruit that create an inviting bouquet. On the palate, it offers a crisp and well-balanced profile, marked by a subtle touch of minerality. The fruit-forward notes continue through to a persistent finish, accompanied by a gentle aromatic return that adds elegance.

Smith and Evans LD 2010 (6 Bottles) Langport, Somerset, England

Our first vintage in 2010 feels like yesterday and like a different world altogether. The nerves and anxiety of years of work and planning all coming down to a single day. Thirty or so virtual strangers turned up to pick coralled by our friend Celia Kozlowski. Little did we know that some of them would still be harvesting with us to this day!
We sold the vast majority of the wine years ago but we kept a few bottles on lees for 13 years. We always keep a some in the cellars for family occasions and have decided to put 50 out into the world for people that are interested in seeeing how this gem has developed. The LD stands for Late Disgorged - doing it this way preserves the freshness of the wine and indeed, these bottles are remarkable. They resemble a blanc de blancs in terms of its taste profile which is fresh and full of minerality with distinctive grapefruit citrus aromas that I can't say that we remember from it's first incarnation. It's a beautiful delicate wine that is testament to the quality of those young vines at Higher Plot.

Due to an ideal vintage in 2022, Matt Abbey our winemaker, has produced our first still Chardonnay; with pleasing results. Hand-harvested fruit from our vineyard and fermented in stainless steel. Aged in a combination of new and aged Hungarian oak for six months.
Beautiful aromas of honeysuckle, vanilla and tropical fruits leading to a soft, buttery palate with stone fruits and a soft textured finish. Eleven barrels have been produced and one to enjoy for years to come. Perfect with richer foods. 13.5%
