Isabel Estate is one of the original Marlborough vineyards with some of the oldest vines in the region on original rootstock. Throughout the 1980s the couple planted key noble varietals and began to deliver fruit of exceptional quality, in high demand from premium and internationally renowned wine producers. Under the leadership of Chief Winemaker Jeremy McKenzie, the winery continues to build its reputation for award winning Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir but is also producing world class Chardonnay. Recognised and awarded, the estate has won. All fruit is estate grown from the 54 hectares of vines, most of which are now organic.

This Chardonnay is a powerful and complex wine displaying notes of gunsmoke, white peach, and nectarine, with hints of lemon and lime. The palate shows roasted almond and brioche notes with an underlying grapefruit citrus note giving the wine length and vibrancy. Mineral. Heartland Wines is a joint venture from industry veterans and lifelong mates Ben Glaetzer (of Glaetzer Wines fame) and Nick Keukenmeester in Langhorne Creek, South Australia. Sustainability is the cornerstone of Heartland’s approach to viticulture. they encourage plantings of indigenous trees, grasses and bushes, practice rational water management, and eschew chemical treatments in the vineyards. Sposa e Sposa translates from Italian as Spouse and Spouse and refers to the marriage of varietals, Dolcetto and Lagrein. A core of intense cherry red recedes to a bright crimson rim in the glass. Greyfriars Vineyard Old Vine Blanc de Blancs 2016 (6 Bottles) Puttenham, Surrey, England

£195.00
by Wines by Cellars

UK MAINLAND DELIVERY INCLUDED

Displaying a delicate, pale lemon hue, this complex sparkling wine has honeyed beeswax and subtle baked apple aromas. The palate is a harmonious blend of richer and fresh fruit, with creamy apple and pear flavours and a delicate hint of vanilla on the finish from the well integrated oak ageing.

While this would serve as a wonderful aperitif, it would go down equally well with creamy, crème fraîche chicken pasta with pancetta; or with a Normandy style Moules with Cider, or lighter roast dishes such as pork tenderloin with fennel.

Review by Matthew Jukes in Vineyard Magazine: (November 2024) "[Goldenford] is fermented and aged in neutral oak, which grants this wine permission to hold itself with exquisite deportment. There are so few 'still' Chardonnays in the UK for which I use the term 'sophisticated'. I have no doubt they will come, but Goldenford is already here, and it is an absolute gem. Silky, linear, resonant and singular, this thrilling wine blows my mind at only £18! I have said it before, and it bears repeating- the wines from Greyfriars are the finest value in our land, and this beautiful wine is genuinely world-class from a taste perspective and also from a pounds, shillings and pence reckoning. if only I still owned my wine bar- would buy a pallet at the drop of a hat!"

Hanwell Eglantine R&R Red Blend (6 Bottles) Hickling Pastures, Nottinghamshire, England

£144.00
by Wines by Cellars

UK MAINLAND SHIPPING INCLUDED

Rondo and Regent both deliver distinct flavours. The Rondo has a smoky aroma and is the initial flavour, think Summer barbeques. The tannins and dark fruits of the hedgerow, sloes, damsons and blackberries then kick in delivering a round rich mouth.

This rare creation is Eglantine’s first red wine for a decade! Made from the grapes of a small quantity of red grape vines. Regent and Rondo grape varieties have a short growing season, allowing them to ripen well in the Nottinghamshire climate. Made into wine in South Nottinghamshire by international award winning maker Tony Skuriat, a true local wine!

This wine is a blend across multiple vintages: 2017 through to 2022. The juice began it’s fermentation on the skins, giving it a deep red colour and rich tannins.
