Ortega grapes ripen from the beginning of September – quite early for white grapes and therefore excellent in our rather damp Autumn climate.
It develops well in the bottle and produces wine of outstanding quality with a fine aroma reminiscent of peaches.
Not quite as dry as Bacchus, but not as sweet as Pinot.

Escape to the picturesque Coddington Vineyard, nestled near the Malvern Hills and the charming market town of Ledbury. Our family-run vineyard offers a warm welcome, stunning gardens, and the opportunity to unwind in a beautiful setting. Stay in one of our two luxurious cottages, each sleeping two. Choose from the Grade II-listed Hop Cottage or the Vine Lodge, situated on the vineyard’s edge with its own private drive. Both properties offer unique access to our vineyard, where you can stroll through the gardens and chat with our gardeners and vine tender.
As a guest, you’ll be treated to a truly immersive experience, with the chance to explore our vineyard and discover the art of winemaking. We look forward to sharing our little slice of Herefordshire heaven with you via a stay or our stunning wines.

Pale golden with subtle aromas of fresh apple and elderflower, our Brut Sparkling Wine is racy and fresh. Bottle maturation provides hints of biscuit on the nose, and butter on the palate. This grape produces dark blue grapes when ripened at the end of October giving the wine a slight blush appearance. By allowing the natural fermentation to extend to 30 months, the Pinot grape makes a very fine sparkling wine having a fruity aroma and spicy flavour. Crisp and dry.
