At Gusbourne, we’re driven by a passion for crafting exceptional wines that showcase the best of England’s terroir. Since planting our first vines in 2004, we’ve remained committed to sustainable practices, careful vineyard management, and meticulous attention to detail. Our estate spans 90 hectares across Kent and West Sussex, where we grow high-quality Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier grapes. Our wines are made using traditional methods, with a focus on expressing the unique characteristics of our vineyards.
Under the guidance of Chief Vineyard Manager Jon Pollard, we’ve adopted a low-intervention approach that allows our grapes to thrive. Our winemaking team’s expertise and dedication have earned us numerous awards, including three-time winner of the IWSC English Wine Producer of the Year. Every wine we craft tells our story, from the careful harvesting of our grapes to the precise blending and ageing processes. This Chardonnay, crafted from four tonnes of premium fruit sourced from a trusted friend’s vineyard in Kent, offers a soft, rounded texture courtesy of full malolactic fermentation. A blend of stainless-steel and 30% new French oak fermentation lends the wine a harmonious balance between fresh purity and subtle oak influence.

A key part of our core range, “Painter of Light” is a wine that expresses refinement and elegance playing into varietal characters and vintage reflection. Following in a similar vein to previous vintages,
the wine with more citrus with a strong backbone lent through the English acidity. The oak is prevalent but restrained embracing tropical and stone fruit character with underlying smokey and flint characters. The palate has minerality and length with underlying elements of citrus and saline notes.

Chartham Classic Reserve Sparkling 2019 (6 Bottles) Canterbury, Kent, England

This dry white sparkling wine is made from 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay grapes hand-picked from our vineyard in October 2019.
It was made using the classic bottle fermentation method and has spent three years on the lees. It is pale gold in colour and displays a fine mousse.
It has a floral bouquet with grapefruit and lemon on the nose. Dry on the palate with delicate aromas of apple, white peach, lemon and lime and a nutty finish.
