The skin fermented method applied to such aromatic varietals results in a wine with super powerful aromas of grapefruit, grass and tropical fruit. The palate is dry and crisp with soft tannins and a long citrussy finish. A very food friendly wine!
Winemaker’s Notes: Not your typical white wine, a wine for the lovers of ‘orange wines’. Small parcels of very ripe and rare (in England) Sauvignon Blanc and Muscat grapes were fermented on skins in the same way as you would a red wine for 7 days before being pressed. Only 500 bottles produced.
Wine: Skin Fermented Still White
Grape Variety: Sauvignon Blanc, Muscat
Body: Medium
Sweetness: Dry
Alcohol: 11.5%
About Knightor Winery
A working winery and exclusive wedding venue set amongst four acres above St Austell Bay.
Our approach is to allow the grapes to express themselves often in short run, exclusive wines. Cool ferments and light touches of oak where it adds value, with careful blending or ageing to achieve depth and balance.
The climate and low yields allow us to produce lighter, fruitier, lower abv wines with good acidity that are refreshing as an aperitif and good with food. Minimal intervention means all of our wines are vegan friendly, low in sulphates and the sweetness comes from fruit, not sugar.

Balfour Skye’s Chardonnay 2023 (6 Bottles) Tonbridge, Kent, England
FREE SHIPPING ENGLAND WIDE
“A chardonnay for those who favour balance, freshness and sophistication” is how our Head Winemaker, Fergus Elias, described his newest vintage of Skye’s Chardonnay, from the superb 2022 harvest.
Inspired by our home, with flavours reminiscent of white blossom, thyme and fresh lemons. Coming from vineyards planted specifically for the creation of English Chardonnay.
Skye’s Chardonnay is made from Burgundy clones planted on Middle Strackney Wood and Old Eight Acre, our two warmest Chardonnay Vineyards which we pick last to maximise phenolic ripeness.
Here’s three reasons to try our Chardonnay:
1. Burgundian heritage: this wine comes entirely from grafted Burgundian vines, grown on Kentish clay soil.
2. Unoaked style: this is all about the character of the chardonnay – zesty, fresh and Chablis-like in style.
3. Lingering complexity: this is proof that you don’t need oak to make interesting wine. There’s plenty of texture from the extended lees age, battonage and full malolactic fermentation.
Tasting Note: A clean citrus-driven palate with notes of lime and melon rind. A delightful, aromatic and complex Chardonnay.
Winemaker’s Food Pairing: There’s a freshness and vibrancy to this wine which makes it an excellent pairing for fresh salads. Alternatively, it’s extra weight (balanced with the citrus character) creates a delicious counterpoint to oily fish dishes and shellfish.
Grape Varieties: Chardonnay
