About Blue Moon Vineyard, Wales
Blue Moon Vineyard, nestled in the heart of Radnorshire, Mid-Wales, is a testament to turning challenges into opportunity. The vineyard’s story began with an unyielding, southwest-facing bank of bracken and gorse deemed “marginal” land. Instead of leaving it unproductive, the owners planted their first vines in 2014, starting with Solaris for white wines and Cabernet Cortis for reds. Overcoming initial struggles with pests, they expanded the vineyard to over 2,200 flourishing vines.
By 2017, Blue Moon Vineyard harvested its first crop, and in 2018, they proudly produced their first commercial wines: red, white, and rosé. The vineyard draws inspiration from Radnorshire’s rich heritage and Roman viticulture dating back to AD 48.
The name “Blue Moon” symbolizes rarity and beauty, reflected in each bottle. Their labels feature a cat silhouette gazing at the moon, honoring their animals, including cats Dylan and Seren, sheepdogs Joe and Bella, chickens, and horse Kyla.
With a commitment to preserving Radnorshire’s culture and crafting distinctive wines, Blue Moon Vineyard transforms its unique terroir into extraordinary wines, celebrating nature and history with every sip.
