About Albury Vineyards, Surrey Hills
Nestled in the rolling hills of the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, just outside Guildford, Albury Vineyard is one of England’s finest boutique wine producers. Founded in 2009 by Nick Wenman, Albury Vineyard is renowned for its commitment to organic and sustainable viticulture, producing award-winning sparkling and still wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region.
The vineyard spans 12 acres of chalky, well-drained soil, perfectly suited for the classic Champagne grape varieties of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier, as well as Seyval Blanc for still wine production. Albury is proudly certified organic by the Soil Association, employing biodynamic principles to nurture the vines and maintain biodiversity in the vineyard ecosystem.
Albury’s flagship wines include its Classic Cuvée, a sparkling wine praised for its elegant balance of fruit and acidity, and the Silent Pool Rosé, a delicate, aromatic still wine that has garnered a loyal following among wine enthusiasts. The vineyard’s small-batch approach ensures meticulous attention to detail, from vine to bottle.
Visitors to Albury Vineyard can enjoy guided tours, tasting experiences, and seasonal events such as their popular “Vineyard Picnics.” The vineyard also offers an exclusive wine club, providing members with priority access to limited-edition releases.
Located just a short drive from Guildford, Albury Vineyard is a must-visit for those exploring English wine, offering a serene escape into nature and an opportunity to savor exceptional, locally produced wines in the heart of Surrey.
