About Brabourne Vineyard
Court Lodge Vineyard, nestled in East Brabourne, boasts a rich history dating back to 864. Our 2022 Rosé honors Salburga, Lady of Brabourne. The estate has changed hands through centuries, featuring in the Domesday Book and tied to notable families like the Knatchbulls and Mountbattens.
In 1945, three remarkable women - Princess Cantacuzino, Lady Charnwood, and Carola Cochrane - established a thriving market garden, apple orchard, and poultry farm. We owe our tasting room to their resourcefulness.
Today, Paul and Hester Fenwick tend the vineyard, planted on the South West facing chalk slope. Paul balances London work with weekend viticulture, while Hester focuses on community and country life. Their family and local volunteers make harvest time a joyful, collaborative effort.
