Domaine Chignard farms 8 hectares of old vines in Fleurie, situated at the top of the hill sloping down to Moulin-àVent on pure granitic soils. The wines are elegant but serious and concentrated expressions of the terroir, none more so than the ‘Les Moriers’ lieu-dit. Cédric is following in his father’s footsteps and continuing the traditional Beaujolais way of farming and winemaking.

Bright, focused, and energetic, the fruit-filled Fleurie “Les Moriers” reflects its outstanding terroir with good concentration and a superb depth not usually found in the wines of Fleurie. It’s very lush and vivid, tasting generous and fluid with great vibrancy The vines average 80 years old and ‘Les Moriers’ has been known as one of the legendary vineyards of the Beaujolais for a few hundred years and this is it’s best example.
