About Harrow & Hope
Over half a million years, the Chiltern Hills were shaped by the retreating Thames, leaving behind a unique terroir perfect for sparkling wine. Our 6.5-hectare vineyard, perched on a Thames gravel terrace near Marlow, is a labour of love. The flint and clay soils may be a challenge to cultivate—as two broken harrows remind us—but their complexity is key to our exceptional wines.
Harrow & Hope's single-vineyard estate thrives on the synergy of site and craft. Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier vines are grown, harvested, and expertly blended by our dedicated team. Every bottle of Harrow & Hope is a tribute to traditional method winemaking and the natural elements that define our wines’ character.
The journey began with my family’s deep-rooted passion for wine. My first harvest at 17 in France ignited a lifelong obsession, further honed in Australia. In 2010, after studying biology (and borrowing notes from my wife, Kaye, whom I met at Durham University), we found our dream site in Marlow. Since then, we’ve planted vines, built a winery, and welcomed three children.
Inspired by the guidance of pioneers like Mike Roberts OBE and Dr. Tony Jordan, we strive to honour our terroir. Our organic practises nurture the vineyard’s biome, from cover crops to homemade compost, fostering harmony with nature. Ten years on, our wines reflect the site’s potential, and we’re proud of the recognition they’ve received, supported by customers who share our love for world-class sparkling wine.
