About Hidden Spring Vineyard
Hidden Spring Vineyard is nestled on a picturesque 23-acre smallholding in Horam, East Sussex, just outside Heathfield. Originally established in 1986, the vineyard built a reputation for producing high-quality, award-winning wines enjoyed across the country.
In the mid-2000s, the vineyard transitioned into a campsite, attracting visitors to Horam. However, in 2015, the vineyard was revitalised, removing the campsite and planting over 24,000 vines across 13 acres. This transformation created the flourishing vineyard seen today.
In early 2022, Richard and Sara Asman became the proud owners of Hidden Spring Vineyard. After spending most of their lives in South Africa, they returned to the UK when their children chose to continue their university studies in England. Richard, a pharmacist with 30 years of experience building companies in pharmaceutical manufacturing, and Sara, an art psychotherapist with a thriving practise, bring their combined expertise and passion to the English wine industry.
They are dedicated to expanding the range of exceptional wines produced at Hidden Spring and enhancing visitor experiences through a variety of events.“We’re thrilled to be part of the growing British wine community and look forward to contributing to the global recognition of fine English wines.”
The vineyard’s warm, welcoming atmosphere is shared with their two Golden Retrievers, Henry and Isla, who can often be spotted patrolling the vines. Dog owners are encouraged to visit—pooches are always welcome!
