About Marlings Vineyard
Marlings is one of Hampshire’s oldest vineyards, dedicated to crafting exceptional wines that celebrate the remarkable beauty of the New Forest. Nestled in a secluded valley near Sway on the southern edge of the New Forest National Park, their vineyard enjoys a south-facing, sunlit aspect with well-drained gravelly soil over sandy clay, known locally as Marl—a nod to their vineyard’s name.
Established in 1990, Marlings benefits from nearly 30-year-old vines, originally planted with Bacchus, Dornfelder, Reichensteiner, and Seyval Blanc. In recent years, they’ve introduced Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, which thrive in their warming climate and contribute to their award-winning English Sparkling Wines. Their Sparkling Rosé, crafted using traditional methods, stands out alongside their range of still white and rosé wines.
Head Winemaker Piotr Nahajski, a qualified viticulturist with a master’s degree in winemaking, leads their passionate team. Every grape is hand-picked for optimal quality, then gently pressed and blended in their on-site winery. Their cooler English climate ensures a slow, gentle ripening process, producing wines with perfect acidity, complexity, and refinement.
Marlings wines have a proud heritage, with local legends claiming their English Table Wine was once served in the Houses of Parliament. Today, they continue this tradition of excellence, offering a range of wines that reflect the unique character of their vineyard and the enchanting New Forest.
