Melbury Vale Vermouth Mist (6 Bottles) Shaftesbury, Dorset, England

This aromatised wine is our Dorset answer to “vermouth”! The white wine base is from our Dorset grown grapes. We bump up the ABV of these wines by fortifying with a small amount of our wine spirit distilled at Melbury Vale. We then blend with all natural extracts and lime syrup. Because of the slight fortification of this wine, it has a longer shelf life once opened. We recommend a bottle of our aromatised wine can stay open in the fridge for up to 2 weeks – but we don’t expect it to last that long! This amazingly zingy and refreshing wine is best served really chilled. You can serve it in a pitcher with ice and garnish with fresh mint, or pour into a glass over ice with Gin to create a Gin Mist! It’s so refreshing it is perfect with salty snacks as an aperitif!

About Melbury Vale Winery

Melbury Vale farm, situated near Melbury Mill and Cann Mill, was purchased by siblings Clare and Glynn in 2003. The 28-acre derelict farmland and buildings were lovingly restored and converted into a thriving agricultural business. A vineyard was planted in 2006 with the help of family and friends. Following the success of their first wine, which won a silver medal, Clare built a winery that was nominated for a design award and received government funding for its sustainable features.

Today, Clare runs the winery and vineyard business, which includes a cider orchard and two cedar lodges. The business has expanded to include wine distillation, producing liqueurs, brandy, and aromatised wines. The winery, built into the hillside, features sustainable design elements, such as a wildflower meadow roof and rainwater harvesting. The location offers stunning views, peaceful surroundings, and opportunities for stargazing, making it an ideal getaway for small groups of friends and family.
