Sandridge Barton Don’t Feed the Ponies Billy 2023 (6 Bottles) Stoke Gabriel, Devon, England

£129.00

UK MAINLAND SHIPPING INCLUDED

A super light red wine with aromas of tart red berries, red apple and blackcurrant. The palate is light and delicate with flavours of sour cherry and cranberry and supported by a focused acidity and low to no tannin. Chill this bottle down and treat it like a cross between a red and rosé!

This wine is part of our new Don’t Feed The Ponies range of more experimental wines, a reference to a campaign on Dartmoor National Park to discourage visitors from feeding the wild horses that roam there. The source of the River Dart begins way up in the heart of the moors, and it’s the river that influences how our grapes grow.

About Sandridge Barton

At Sandridge Barton, we proudly build on our 40-year legacy as pioneers of the English wine industry, formerly known as Sharpham Wine. Our history began in the 1980s when Maurice and Ruth Ash planted trial vines on the Sharpham Estate, overlooking the River Dart. The first wines were released in the late 1980s and quickly gained recognition.

In the 1990s and 2000s, Mark Sharman took over the business, expanding the vineyard and introducing new varieties. Our reputation grew, with wins in national and international awards, including three consecutive gold medals at the Sommeliers Choice Awards.

In the mid-2000s, we partnered with Sandridge Barton, increasing our production and honouring our ethos of using Dart Valley fruit. In 2020, we relocated to our new home on the Sandridge Barton estate, building a state-of-the-art winery and visitor centre.

We're excited to continue our legacy, producing excellent wines made with grapes grown in our Dart Valley vineyards.
