Siegerrebe

Siegerrebe is a highly aromatic white grape variety created in Germany in 1929 by crossing Madeleine Angevine × Gewürztraminer. Its name means “victory vine” in German, and it has proven itself in cooler climates, with successful plantings across Germany, Switzerland, Canada, and the UK.

As an early-ripening grape, Siegerrebe performs especially well in the UK, often among the first varieties ready for harvest. In the glass, it produces wines that are low in acidity but intensely aromatic, with flavours of lychee, rose petals, honey, peach, and spice. Its style is often compared to Gewürztraminer, but generally lighter and more delicate, sometimes with a gentle off-dry finish.
