Chapel Down is England's leading wine producer, crafting an award-winning range of sparkling and still wines from the heart of Kent, the Garden of England. Our mission is to redefine the world's perception of English wine. We own some of England's finest vineyards, primarily situated on Kent's North Downs, with a terroir similar to Champagne. Our Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Bacchus vines thrive on south-facing chalk soils, benefiting from a warm, maritime climate.
Our world-class winemaking team employs the latest techniques to produce elegant wines with balanced acidity and rich fruit characters. Our wines are served in top UK restaurants, bars, supermarkets, and independent wine merchants. We're proud to be the Official Sparkling Wine of the England & Wales Cricket Board, Ascot Racecourse, and the Oxford & Cambridge Boat Race, as well as an Official Supplier to the London Stock Exchange. In a bold move to challenge outdated perceptions, we took our best-selling English sparkling wine to the Champagne region of France for a blind taste test. Under the guise of "Chapelle en Bas," we invited French consumers to compare our Brut to a major Champagne brand. The verdict? A staggering 60% preferred Chapel Down. French locals and tourists alike praised our wine as "fresher" and "crisper," with some shocked to discover its English origins.This blind tasting was part of our mission to change the way the world thinks about English wine.
