About Hattingley Valley
What began in 2008 as a farm diversification project has grown into one of the UK’s leading wineries, nestled in rural Hampshire. The Robinson family planted their first vineyard on farmland with little idea of the journey ahead. Today, Hattingley Valley boasts a 600-tonne, eco-friendly winery, purpose-built under the guidance of their first Head Winemaker, Emma Rice. Taking full advantage of Simon Robinson’s initial lack of industry knowledge—and his generous chequebook—Emma ensured the winery was equipped with some of the most advanced winemaking technology in the world. Simon now has a much smaller chequebook, but a state-of-the-art winery to show for it.
At Hattingley Valley, winemaking is taken very seriously, but everything else is approached with a sense of fun and adventure. Embracing the unconventional, they craft remarkable wines that challenge tradition. Once the subject of ridicule, English wine now commands respect—and Hattingley Valley is proud to be part of that revolution.
Founded by Simon Robinson in Lower Wield, Hampshire, Hattingley Valley specialises in exceptional English sparkling wines but also produces STILL wines and, in outstanding harvest years, their signature dessert wine, Hattingley Valley Entice. The journey from grape to glass is a meticulous process that can take up to seven years, involving cutting-edge equipment and expert craftsmanship.
